have been working for ACN for just over a year now but am not enjoying it too much and am keen to move to NY to spend time with my bf. Any tips? Is it worth trying to transfer with ACN even though I have only been there a yr? Or do i have any chance of getting into a good strat house based in NY? Or any ideas on how an internship would look on my cv if i quit ACN, worked in NY for a year just for the experience(Mountbatten Scheme) and then applied to a Strat House.Any tips would be much appreciated

I did an office transfer from Vienna to NY. It took me 6 months and a lot of efforts. Basically you need the approvals from the UK senior leadership, from the US senior leadership, you need a confirmed project, you need a exceptional track record, etc. Especially if you are trying to get into US offices like NY. If you are an Analyst I don't belive that it will work. For Consultants, Managers, etc. it should be easier given the fact that you have enough support and a network that helps you.

one thing which I would like to add: If you really want the office transfer it can work but you need to be very patient, highly motivated (and express this in a motivation letter) and you should know that it's not done in a few weeks. And of course you will need a US working visa...Accenture is not sponsoring working visas...(except you have skills to offer which ACN can't find in the entire US)Good luck!
