Hi all.I'm CIMA qualified and have 3 years experience in industry. I've done a few interviews and basically have the choice between a small niche firm and either E&Y or Deloitte.The small firm is more "strategic" and certainly the work would be more interesting but do you think I'd be burning my bridges with regards future opportunities? It's a very specialised firm (although the speciality is of interest to me).At some point (obviously) I'd like to end up at a big strat house or I may well want to move into a big 4 consultancy at a later stage. How do you think being highly specialised would be viewed after 2-3 years consulting experience?Any help very much appreciated!

Its a tricky choice. Im ACA. My opinion is that if you can get into EY or Deloittes, its a great CV move and opens doors later. In truth, i think it can be harder getting into EY etc later in life than it is to get into a smaller firm so consider taking the opportunity when you can. I now work in a smaller firm BUT I still think that having had large firm experience, it puts me in a better position when pitching etc etc
