Anon - take a look at our 2007 salary benchmarking report, published in the last weeks. PDF is downloadable from:http://www.top-consultant.com/2007_salary_report.pdfYou'd be coming in at the Senior Consultant or Manager level, depending on prior years of experience. The report shows within strategy consulting the basic salary, perks and bonus you can expect at these levels - plus the time taken to be promoted up to the next levelsTony RestellTop-Consultant.com

I think the discrepancy between 50k and 100k is a discrepancy between MBB and some of the other Firms. At MBB I'd expect a new MBA (regardless of experience) to be on £80-100k (most of it being basic). At other firms it is likely to be lower and depend on experience.

I would agree with Anon's comment - if you've made it into an MBBB at the MBA entry point then you're going to be from one of the world's top business schools and a package of £80k to £100k would be in the right ball park. Our salary report shows £68k and £85k packages for senior consultants and managers in strategy consulting, but this is an average for all strategy consulting roles and you'd expect MBBB firms to be paying a 10-20% premium over the averages in the industry.Tony RestellTop-Consultant.com

Thanks for your useful insight guys.I'm contemplating MBA right now, at that stage of my career and trying to establish if it's viable from a funding point of view and whether I'm better off staying put. MBBB would, i think, be out of my reach but some of the other strat firms I think i'd have a look in with. Again, thanks for the feedback.
