I can't comment on CSC specifically, but across the consulting industry this has been happening quite a bit. I can think of at least half a dozen firms that have been letting people go in one part of the business whilst aggressively recruiting in another. The changing demand profile lies behind this. In the last year the consulting industry has seen revenues from private sector clients grow by 22% (well above recent trend growth); whilst public sector revenues have grown by 'only' 5% (well below recent trend growth). As a result firms have consultants sat idle in certain practice areas, yet desperate shortages in other areas - and unfortunately consultants can't always transition from one area of the business to another.Hope this helps - interested in any specific CSC insights readers might haveTony RestellTop-Consultant.com
