usually accenture gives you credits for 50% of your experience only. So, with 7 years, acn would see 3,5 years of experience which makes you a C2, maybe a C3. if you can make your case you might manage to get a c3 offer, making you eligible for promotion next september, or an M1 offer. the difference between these two levels could not be bigger in my eyes, therefore you need to push hard for an M1 position proving that your experience is relevant in the ACN world (leadership, management skills).i cannot tell you anything about pay as it differs significantly, but in the strat practice i would expect a fair deal for both sides.

Amazed!

WHAT?!How is ACN hoping to attract professionals from the industry with such penalizing and discouraging terms? Why would one give up half of his/her experience to join the company?

ACN is taking a very special position when it comes to "external" experience. in ACN´s eyes only ACN experience counts. and if you have ever worked there on a large-scale project you understand that the ACN way of working is different from other comps, be it industry or consultancies.the approach ACN is taking for experienced hires usually does not make the company very attractive for external professionals with significant experience: If you have worked 10 years in the industry and you are let´s say 33, you might be on the same level (C3/M1) with 26 year old "high performers". And your boss might be a 28 year old senior manager who never worked outside ACN and also misses some "real life" experience due to the ACN style of living. This is of course a very negative extrapolation, but this could be a setting to encounter within ACN.bottom line: negotiation of the entry level and the credit is key, and given the current market you should be in a very good position to get a good deal.

I had a 'telephone interview' with them. I'm 31 yrs old, 10 yrs mgt consultancy experience. Got interviewed by a 28 year old 'manager'. Seems to confirm what you guys are saying.

I'm going to go against the flow here. With 6 years relevant industry experience, got offered M1 and 70k in strategy. From what I read in this thread I should literally jump on this offer?

Assuming I went the other way and left at manager level (M1, 5 yrs experience). Would I be able to get comparatively remunerated in inidustry?

BIG Mistake
13.09.7 00:00

Just joined Accenture from industry (retail) as manager. Big mistake that I'm regretting. Strategy here is not REAL strategy. All actions are aimed at getting client into expensive SI type deals. Am actively looking to go back to industry but my previous employer will not take me back.
