A recruitment consultant has put me forward for a role in PA Consulting’s finance transformation group. Has anyone come across them before? Where do they usually hire their finance and accounting people from? Do they have any big name clients for finance transformation? Are PA’s finance transformation group facing the same sort of problems that others in the consulting industry are?

As far as I am aware (I work in a different part of PA) Finance Transformation is a proposition area within a practice (I'm not sure which one).I have seen proposals and propositions they have put out and they look credible - good people (with relevant finance qualifications), good track record and some interesting assignments live at the moment. As in many areas of PA - the group will not be huge in size but there will be lots of opportunity. I would say it's definitely worth finding out more.

The Finance Management Transformation team reside within BOP. They are relatively small in size, but growing quite aggressively. The team are relatively senior, all are at PC level and above, but they sell a lot of work in both the private and public sectors, and are always sending out resource requests for accountants from other parts of the business. As for background, the staff are mainly CIMA and ACA qualified. The team is headed up by an ex-PwCC / IBM partner, and quite a few staff also come from PwC / IBM, with the rest of the staff coming from blue chip big companies.Their utilisation is very high compared to other parts of the company, so overall I’d say they’d be a good place to join.
