I'm going to apply to companies this sept, I was wondering which one is better DC ops and finance consulting or ACN BSI i understand the later is essentially IT consulting, what I'm more interested in is in 5 yrs which will give me the best brand on my CV, highest salary package and the future leverage to move into industry at senior level?Any comments would be much appreciated.

Deloitte will give you access to more after 5 years. Accenture will pay more but make you a techie. You wont get away from it. ACN leads to tech architect or programmer or CIO. Deloitte leads to Business Analysis, Project & Programme Managements, launching your own start up etc

oh, what rubbish. You will not be a programmer in BSI at ACN. Just get on a business consulting project and get aligned to MCIM. You will be doing real consulting- Org design, change management, strategy, supply chain, finance, etc. This is the best part of ACN, and they plan to greatly expand it.

Defo agree with the abocve poster.Don't know where everyone gets the idea we sit about programming and doing 'IT' all day.I'm only an analyst and have worked in change management and programme management. If you want you can be as techy but there are plenty of business consulting opportunities here.Good money, good people (well, manager and below at least) and good clients.

Yap plenty of strategy work such as....- Operating model design- Program management (Schedue meetings and so on)Really want to do strategy work go to other firms dont come to ACN. I dont care what anyone will say. Seen it all for the past 2+ years.Only time you get to see some strat work is when you become a manager/snr consultant if not chances are low that you will be doing anything much. Some individulas get stuck with doing powerpoint and conditional formatting in excel and think they are doing strategy.Go to where you can do some sexy strategy work like goto new market and so on.If ACN then try Resources as your best bet for some strategy work
