ever so subtly, yesbusiness casual could go as far as meaning a suit without a tiesmart causual could go to the other end and be a polo neck with chinosFor either, I&apos;d play it safe and wear chinos with an ironed shirt

I like business casual to mean suit trousers with a nice shirt. Smart casual is much slacker imo. Could even mean jeans and brown shoes or something.

As far as i understand it the grading goes;formal (tux)business formal (suit and tie)business casual (suit and no tie)smart (chinos and shirt)smart casual (golf stuff)casual (jeans + t-shirt)fancy dresscasual
