Where does Booz rank with the MBBs? is it in the same league? people mention the recent restructure - what is this about?

In my view I wouldn't see it in the same league -particularly in the graduate recruitment market where people talk about McKinsey, Bain and BCG in the same breath but not BAH. I would view them more on a level with LEK, OC&C, Marakon etc.

BAH are first-rate strategy experts. They are well and truly in the same league as McK, Bain, BCG and I believe the pay is often better.In the US they have a technology division but in Europe they are well and truly focused on CEO level strategy projects. They produce the 'strategy + business' publication which many people believe to be more high-level than the McK quarterly.You won't be disappointed if you join BAH. They have exceptionally high standards but if you can make the grade, you really will stand out from the crowd.

just what rationale do people use to BAH second tier to MBB? BAH has their foot in more CEOs doors by a long shot that the other.And who was it that invented Management Consulting?

Wasn't it Arthur D Little? That's what they always say anyway.Are you talking about London BAH? Despite working at one of the firms I don't have a full knowledge of how many CEOs doors are open to each of the firms (and I doubt that you do either!) - either way I'd be very surprised if BAH have greater access than McKinsey.The point I was making however (given that this is a candidate's forum) was that from either an undergrad or MBA perspective BAH is not generally considered in the same league as MBB - I am absolutely sure of this. This is not to say it is not a great firm - there are loads of great firms who aren't MBB: OC&C, Roland Berger etc etc but that doesn't mean that given a choice between McKinsey/Bain or BAH the vast majority of MBA or undergrad candidates wouldn't choose the former.

PS - I may be being slightly narrow-minded in my definition of candidates. I don't know what the equivalent positioning would be for experienced hires. I would expect for 'generalist' experienced hires it still wouldn't be in the same league, but that might not be the case for more specialist individuals. I really don't know

IS BAH having a technology division in UK ? Is it having the same structure (con , associate, principle , partner)?
