Hi Just wanted to canvas a few opinions on people who change companies every few years. I have been working 5 years for 3 different companies - Industry - consulting - industry. In each i have performed really well, but i have found promotion and salary progression much more rapid by moving around. Now again i am faced with the same dilemma - stay for a small increase or move for a much larger one back to consulting.... Will people view this negatively in future. Each step i have made makes sense and can be justified easily in interview. But i am worried that i am obvioulsy seen as not very loyal. Market forces dont reward loyalty sadly....What are your views?

Give some indication of the levels you were at and the levels ou moved to including salary etc. These could be justified in the future. Generally speacking though to get into Senior Management you need to deliver at middle management in the same Firm. Senior managers and above that are brought in from the outside are usually head hunted and posses a proven track record or some unique/niche skills.
