Could use some help.I have been invited to first round interviews with E&Y BAS. I am en experienced consultant (manager grade) and have been freelancing for the past few years. My question is; what is E&Y policy on expensing hire cars. I don't want to buy one but if it is needed to get to a project would they let me do this. I don't want to bring it up at this early stage with them but would like to know before I (hopefully) get further in the process. I don’t mind forfeiting my car allowance but want to make sure that they would be ok with paying for all hire travel when necessary. The difference should be negligible but require flexibility on this issue. I believe Accenture are ok with this but also that others are not.Any feedback would be much appreciated

Hi,The EY travel policy is fairly vague on such matters. However, as a Manager you will get a car allowance and this will not be affected if you require a hire car which EY will more than likely fund. However, in realist most clients are either London based or in major cities so taxis are more likey to be used.

I wouldn't join EY, if I was in your shoes. Morale is very low at the moment, with very high attrition rates.I can't help you on your car hire question, though...
