I have 6 year work experience in management consultancy in Middle East, mainly in areas of basic industry standards (such as ISO9001), business process improvement and also some strategic level change management consultancies. We were basically cross-industry consultants and trained to be adaptable to nature of processes we were dealing with. My projects were mostly in energy, public and banking sector.I was quite successful in the role and was a highflier; however I quit the job when I felt I need to update my self with practical business knowledge. Now that I am near to end of my MBA , I feel very indecisive . I am still welcome to previous role, but now I have developed ambition and confidence to take more a challenging global role in UK. I have no UK or global consultancy experience .I recently applied for few roles , but rejections so far . What are the chances? Would I be back to back to first square if pursuit my career here? Which companies do you advise me to start with? (Considering my background). Would some one with my background able to pass through all these assessment stuff and get a proper consultancy job? I need sponsorship as well. I am on student visa at the moment. Please adviseMuch appreciated

So, am I correct in understanding that you got your MBA in the UK which is why you have the student visa? If so, the business school or university careers service should be able to give some guidance on employers who have previously sponsored non-UK students. You might want to get a non-consulting job to start with, both because it will be easier to get and because it will let you get UK experience on your CV.The best way to find out how you perform in assessments is to try them and find out. Assuming you are applying to jobs in a similar vein to what you were doing before, performance is more dependent on your personal ability than your particular national background. You can get interview practice with the university but also by just applying for jobs and having a go.

yes, I got MBA in UK. Our university career service is not much help to be honest and I am relying on myself now to find a job. Starting with non-consultancy job not a bad idea and I don’t really mind starting from scratch. But don’t you think this reduces my chances of getting first interviews?
