Advice appreciated! I have MC interview coming and was asked to prepare in advance (received the business case and I’m supposed to present the findings). I did the analysis, but have the question whether it’s appropriate to add at the end of the presentation some kind of animated summary (couple of slides with music and the background and animated slides etc). I would like to stand out during this interview and the animated summary came to my mind. However I am not sure whether it’s appropriate? Or should I stick just to presenting the business case slides?

This isn't "The Apprentice"!!Your interviewers are going to want to see you present competently in a manner that would be appropriate if you were presenting to one of their key clients. So substance over style every time!!

Leotard is naturally a "deffo"! I would however drop the music and animation. More pics/charts/diagrams than words. As Sir Alan pointed out "So substance over style every time" Stick to the point, no extra points are awarded for waffling.

I recently received a CV with little cartoon-type pictures on it to emphasise the key points. It definately stood out: it went in the bin.

Guys, one more thing. In my analysis I made one mistake (omitted one decision driver which should have been included). However it's too late to correct it as I made whole analysis (calculations, charts, slides) without this element. What would be the best way to address it? Admit it upfront or not point this out till I'm asked to do so?

At a consulting firm you'd be expected to work through the night to put things right if you knew your client presentation contained a howler. So go start a brew of strong coffee and get re-working that presentation!!

This could be a career-defining moment. Are you prepared for life as a consultant? Is your career worth less that what you have to do tonight/ over the weekend? It's a p1sser, but that's how consulting works.Sorry.

The music 'Pink Floyd - dogs of war' did not go down too well for the Thales future soldier presentation, and then I find out that its something calkled HSM cards I was supposed to be looking at and not muslim supressing firepower. The headscarf and half pint of milk on the head set the scene as 'Mellk Sheikh' mind you. Most fun I had in years
