I have got an offer from Capgemini and CSC from their outsourcing division. I need to understand which company is better in terms of work culture, client base, career growth, brand image etc...Salary wise CSC is paying slightly higher than CG. Your views and experience will help me to take a right decision and hence please share your thoughts. Thanks!

CSC have major internal issues at the moment with people leaving, the company being sold etc.Whereas Cap have been recommended to me quite a few times by different people for their culture. Why don't you get Cap to match CSC's offer?

I havent heard that CSC are being sold? Since when? To whom?I've an interview coming up with them (CSI) and have not heard this once. Plus I know a few people who work there and they havn't mentioned it either and yet it was a friend who introduced me to them.Slightly confused...

I know one guy who's recently joined GTS and he seems happy with his choice. He was so impressed by the way they managed the interview process-it's quite thorough but goes to show how particular they are ablout what they look for etc. There was also a chance to have '1 on 1' with other people from the division which gave him a good idea about culture.CSC seem to be friendly, confident (not arrogant) and knowledgeable. I dont know many people at Capgemini but know that they operate in the same areas as CSC although I have heard that Capgemini has a bit of a reputation for being mainly within the Public sector/Government area.Hope this helps!

LOL! Sorry I guess reading it back it does sound very HR-speak.Im a Project Manager and am attending an assessment with CSI shortly. I've also got an interview lined up with Logica and EDS for their PM divisions.Any one got any news on CSC being sold? I was keen on this one the most (based on all the positive things I had heard) but this thing about ''the company being sold' has really got me quite anxious.Any news on this anyone?

Reply to anon from anon:Reg. matching salary, I doubt CG will do that. During my discussion with the line manager about my salary, he told me that he cannot increase any further and that is the max. they can offer.

I wonder if this is a case of crossed-wires? CSC were involved in the acquisition of Covansys in the last days - though they were doing the acquiring rather than the business being targeted...Tony RestellTop-Consultant.com

Just to clarify - CSC WAS up for sale, although it is not anymore.APR 06"CSC yesterday released a statement declaring that “the Board of Directors has decided to explore strategic alternatives to enhance shareholder value, including a potential sale of the company”. In the same statement, the California-based outsourcer also reveals plans for a “restructuring programme” that will involve 4,300 lay-offs in the current financial year (to March 2007) and a further 700 in FY08."
