I am thinking of applying for a mangement consultancy position with Accenture. One of the requirements is full mobility. Can anyone tell me what to expect under full mobility?

Management Consultant? Accenture? You have to be kidding. Think more IT Consulting...

Depends on what area at Accenture. I work in the Management Consulting & Integrated Markets workforce and have never been on a systems project. In fact, I am currently working with a team to re-structure an organization's operating model and help them management the change. There may be systems teams on a project, and they certainly are doing IT consulting, but this has not characterized my experience at ACN.

full mobility means that you will be able to do 100% travelling or more.one of the great sides of accenture (in contrast to other full IT service providers) is that ACN is truly a global firm. on the one hand that will give you the opportunity to go for a project in australia for 1 year or more with maybe 4-6 weeks pre-warning period. On the other hand this can also mean that you are working on a out of town project from monday 6am to friday 9pm, sometimes even staying for weekend work if the senior execs command you to do so.if you have the right expectations about the opportunity that ACN brings you will love it there. but be sure to work hard (very hard) on big IT projects. do not go there if you consider ACN to be a management consultancy like, BAH, BCG, MCK etc....we are not. good luck.

"...will give you the opportunity to go for a project in australia for 1 year or more with maybe 4-6 weeks pre-warning period."Hmm. This seems to fit the lifestyle of a 20-something who has no commitments and a 'happy go lucky' approach to life. I wonder how much good talent they are losing, simply because a lot of more experienced folk aren't prepared to pack their bags and go to the other side of the world for extended periods of time at a moment's notice. I note that Accenture was some time ago announced as one of the finalists for the ‘NSPPC Family Friendly Award’, sponsored by ‘Working Families UK’. How do they reconcile this against the above?

if you look at the people working for ACN you will find mostly fresh, young employees who are working their but off. issues are not solved through expertise of knowledge transfer but hard, hard work. if it takes the weekend and a 24 hour shift, no question ACNlers will do it.do not get me wrong, ACN does not force you to go abroad, but if you want to do this there is a very realistic chance. this is nice for young grads enyoying 5 star hotels in asia, however for a mid-30 software designer with a family and a real life this might not be very tempting.most people leave ACN because they grow up and grow out of it...to me this company is a good fit for a specific period in your life like going to school, college etc...but this time is over at somepoint. however, some people might take longer to grow up and some might stay longer at college to enjoy this specific time in their life.acn is about maximum flexibility, in terms of location, working area (sometimes people are not staffed according to their skills) and serving market demands.

"full mobility means that you will be able to do 100% travelling or more." What's more than 100% then? Sounds a load of American marketing bolloxs. By the way Mr Big 4 butt has two Ts and in the UK we call it an ar5e.
