Masters matters not a jot. I would focus on making your applications now -- if unsuccessful, try to get a year's experience doing work with skills that you can transfer to consulting. Much easier to demonstrate commerciality, leadership, project management, etc in a real world job rather than academia.Frankly, with the exception of new graduates, the 'Education' section of most CVs that cross my desk never receives more than a cursory glance. Work experience is much, much more important.
