Hi,As my name suggests I have insider knowledge. The SC grade is very wide in terms of age, experience and salary/package. A Manager in consulting is different to a manager in industry. In Consulting, there are sales targets, practice development etcSo you say you were in IT consulting but the difference at Deloitte is that you will be a Management consultant. There is a difference and it is probably this that puts you in the Senior Consultant bracket. If you believe you can generate sales and bring in clients while developing your competency (I assume TI for you) then ask to be brought in as Manager or ask for an early target promotion date (TPD). However if you do the latter you run the risk of not meeting your target objectives and failing to meet your TPD.My advice is to get in the door, bed in and then grow. If you are as good as you insinuate you will be in your first year. Every one would like the title that a promotion brings but it should really be earned. If you came in as Senior Manager and did not perform your reputation would go through the floor and you could loose the respect of not just Senior Management but Managers and Consultants below.Bottom line - If you were SM or M material you would know and not apply for an SC role. Let me know which are of TI you will be joining and I will post a little more useful for you.Bye for now
