HORRIBLE! still the master-slave mentality, no inovative stuff to do, only techno-geeks, no non-techy interests amongs employees, "we know best" arrogance that comes when limited success goes to head, not knowing/recognising that many different battles lie ahead and they will be far more complex than winning a few back-end outsourcing jobs won on the basis of slave salaries.

I joined TCS after 5 years at one of the Big4- worst decision of my life...moved back within 5 weeks. The place is a joke, indian working culture is not good, as the poster above says, most TCS 'consultants' have such limited interests outside of work, it's quite terrible. Pay was ok, but i was drafted in 2 levels above my big 4 position, so not really great in respect to what i would get for the same at my current emlpoyer. The client list sounds ok, blue chippy, but the only work going there is managed outsourcing/testing work. BORING. Stay away. No really, STAY AWAY!

Bitten now shy - I am with a Big 4 since the last 6 years and have a chance to interview with TCS. I am looking it as a quick way to get a promotion to a Principal/Executive level consultant , which if I stay where I am might take me 3 more years. 2 Questions on that:1. What level in TCS corresponds to what we understand as a Principal/Executive Consultant ?2. How marketable will I be in 2 years if I do join TCS i.e. 6 yrs Big 4 and 2 years TCS experience ?Any pointers will be appreicated

2. How marketable will I be in 2 years if I do join TCS i.e. 6 yrs Big 4 and 2 years TCS experience ? If your moving to 'Outsourcing' then marketable, anything else then not very marketable at all or there would be amny TCS/Wipro people joining your organisation, think about it.

You better learn to deal with it guys. This business is only going one way. And its not in the direction of highly paid generalists in London, who think they know PowerPoint.
