I detest comparison topics, yet I'm making one. However, I believe mine is distinct as my query is regarding different roles.I have the option of a graduate role in either -Deloitte (TI) OR - BT Global Services (Technical Design and Consulting)My interests lie in Telecomms (hence the BT role), however I'm keen to distance myself from a "hardcore" technical role. With BT, I will be working in the industry sector I am interested in.However, I can see the role being more technical focused.I will be asking/pushing/praying for telecomms based projects, if I were to take the Deloitte offer.Does anybody have any insights I would be wise to consider?I am especially concerned about career progression within BT. I am well aware of the 2 year rotational graduate programme, after the 2 years, I have no information on how things progress. Thanks in advance.

I went to a Deloitte TI recruitment event. After a presentation, there was an opportunity to chat with some of the Deloitte employees. The attendees were given paper slips with their names on and were asked to give these to the Deloitte consultants which they spoke to. Afterwards, they wrote their opinions of you on the paper and posted it in a bag. Some of the people I spoke to left with the feeling that I was being interviewed rather than the other way around. I thought they whole experience was a incredibly weird and put me off applying.

IF yo were interested in the non-technical aspects why did you not apply for the professional services program in BT?Anyway - as a scheme and as future prospects go i don't think you can beat Deloitte TI - it is a good scheme.I have been offered the BT professional services as previous posts would tell and I can tell you after the rotation you choose the stream you want to go into and more or less likely you can go into a managerial role (maybe)Although - erm - i've still not choosen BT or JP Morgan yet (ahem...oh well)I may join Zurich Financial services now....oh dear

I didn't apply for non-technical aspect because I'd prefer a mix. I enjoy some technical aspects, but I don't want to be engrossed in it.Also, the telecoms industry is the industry I'd like to work in.It's quite a contrast .... BT, JPM and Zurich.

Yeah - it is quite a mixture! oh well spice of life..But in your shoes - i would probably join Deloitte TI - It is better on CV, you will have a more real exposure but if your extremely keen on Telecoms - then i guess go with the expert in that industry BT.But you cant really go wrong with the BIG 4 - gr8 exit options.Mmmm...choices!
