I have been offered temporary project work with a prospect of a permanent position for a leading consultancy/research company. However, I would need to move from Scotland to London.So long as I can more-or-less break-even at the end of the month, I'd be prepared to take the risk of not having full job security.My main questions are where in London should I move to, how much should I expect to pay in rent and what will I get for my money? Also, does anyone know how easy it would be to find temporary accommodation - perhaps subletting from students who are moving away for the summer months?Thanks!

Just get a room above a pub or something initially - it is cheap, has no strings and will do for a bit. The City YMCA is another option, not super cheap but convenient enough and they may throw in a free Red Indian headdress.

Try gumtree.com to find a flat share - cheap and instant social life...Location depends on where your mates are where you need to get to for work. West london's my fav... though not cheap!
