Hi everyone.I'm finishing my Management degree this month and I will get an average of 14 (out of 20), that is probably a low 2:1 but I'm not sure. I already accepted an audit role in PwC and I'll start in September. I think this will be a great oportunity to get to know many different people, industries and improve and get new skills. I am thinking of staying there for about 2 or 3 years maximum and then I could make a master degree in UK.

I think I would prefer to work in a strategy consulting firm and I don't know if in two years from now my accountability experience would be valuable in a consulting recruitment. What do you think of that? Do you think a master degree would be a plus? In which area? Finance, International Management?

European grades out of 20 don't convert to UK university grades in that way. How ignorant can you be?

Hi pmnsg,...don't worry about your Uni mark, to me it sounds like you've done great and you've got yourself a good job!I am not sure how much 2/3 years in audit and an ACA would put you in a good position with strat firms. You wouldn't be joining as a fresh grad and they'd want to see some transferable skills (project management, client facing roles, strategy related teamwork, etc) which I don't know how much you would gain in audit. There is the usual numbers issue. PwC recruits hundreds of audit grads nationwide and a handful of people in its strategy division in London. It's a similar story elsewhere. I would see 3 possible routes you could take:1) work hard in audit and ask for an internal transfer to something more related to strategy, like TS, and then move on after a year or two.2) I'm assuming you're probably bilingual. It's a long shot but they may require your language skills on a strategy project...Another point about language skills, I think that in some countries they would probably be more inclined to take you into strategy with audit experience from PwC if you fancy working abroad3) Do your ACA, work in industry for 1/2 years, and then do a good MBAHowever, I wouldn't drop the PwC offer. It will definitely be a great experience and you've done very well to secure it.Hope that's of some help!

Ned,I really enjoyed your thoughts. Many thanks.By the way, I am from Portugal. I think this is the kind of work that will give me the opportunity to get a lot of experience and all that things I explained in my first post. And what about a Master degree, don't you think it would be valuable? Sorry about the ignorance but what is ACA?
