I am a graduate of a top university, have worked in the HR area for 3 years (more operational than strategy) and i want to get inot consultancy. I think i have too much expericne for grad programs- i'm willing to go in as a junior in any of the big professional service firms, or indeed any of the HR consulting firms, watson wyatt, Mazars, deloittes. Can anyone offer me advice on how i should position myself to get into a junior role.Thanks

If your role has been purely operational, the transition probably isn't straightforward. If, on the other hand, you've done project work as part of your role, you have much more to talk about in interview.For example, if you've been doing payroll processing for three years, you're probably not consultant material. If, on the other hand, you've helped your company to improve their payroll process (or lived through the outsourcing of your payroll processes), you probably have a good, transferable skillset.
