PA are also making individuals redundant but keeping it very quiet even inside the companyRecruitment is on hold in some areas because results are poor and we are carrying far too many new recruits (>10% headcount growth last two years) - too much dead weight.Basic salaries remain moderatley low compared to the market and bonuses are normally in the region of 20%It would interesting to see if other consultancies are down on this time last year (as with Cap).

Yup! I was supposed to attend a Final with Strategy practice but i got a call saying they restructured and not taking on any new recruits..Luckily i got offer with BT and JPmorgan..although my first choice would have been PA.

I don't think it's redundancies, just performance management. Recruitment has become more specific as well - specialists for key growth rather than generalists. A number of practices are recruiting busily; a number of others are restructuring due to growth and closer sector alignment.

I believe its an overall restructuring of the group and a realignment of strategy. The fs practise in nyc is shrinking to only 9 persons but this is because they wish to focus on a particular area. Its a good move as the firm reacting to market trends and developments. I don't think theres anything to worry about as the firms doing well.

Sounds Iffy

Sounds like we have a HR plant on here..... no company would make people redundant if there was demand, not even mckinsey. Resources would be retrained and redeployed to other 'growing entities'. Cut the shiz PA HR.

I agree sounds iffy. I posted the orginal message but sombody has signed insider in my place. Sounds like a classic HR slant to meI have it on goo authority that the numbers are bad and the company is down significantly on this time last year. Their growth target which they have met (<10% increase per year) has simply not been supported by a pipeline of work for new recruits to operate on. The company is now fat and it carry too much dead weight.

No redundancies. You're not an insider if you don't know PA would do anything but concede to paying you off to leave the company, they simply make it too uncomfortable to stay.Wow, figures down on last year - which of course was a record year for the company! Yes, we'd all like to see it do better but it's not like it's the end of the world. The "only 20%" bonuses you talk about - do you read threads on here? Companies that pay the same basic as PA pay no bonus...even if this year is worse than last year bonuses will still be decent.

Don't forget to add in the consistent double digit percentage growth in the share price over the past 15 years.Still the best overall package for any UK consultancy, by a country mile.
