Hi All;I was wondering how easy it is, theoretically, to move between a consultancy like Accenture into strategy consultancy like McKinsey. It may sound naive, but is specific strategy work experience required, or is there an entry route for industry experts with significant implementation experience at project management level - albeit not in the strategy practice?Many thanks for any answersRob

Depends on what you are actually doing at e.g. Accenture. If you are customizing SAP all day there is no chance, if you are doing "real" consulting work (and there is some in e.g. Accenture) and have some specific industry experience you might get in, however – McK might be an especially tough one. If you are working in the "Business Consulting" (as opposed to BSI) part of Accenture then there are likely to be overlaps in the work you do and the work you'd do at McKinsey. Obviously, you'd need to excel at Accenture and a great CV anyway.Most of what McKinsey does isn't strategy consulting anyway (it's operations, change management, and IT consulting). Unless you specifically want to go into a strategy team, you can leverage deep industry or functional experience in your application to McKinsey without having had major strategy-consulting experience.
