SVP is confused. "Business Advisory Services" and "Consulting" tend to be used interchangeably. Many of the big 4 accounting houses use the term "Advisory Services" because they were prohibited from selling consulting services under the terms of their agreements when they spun off their former consulting arms.As Merlin says, consulting comes in many different varieties - strategy consulting, operational consulting, technology consulting, etc.If we're talking specifically about EY BAS, they offer operational consulting - both broadly (project/programme management etc) and particularly around the CFO agenda (as you would expect from a firm of accountants). The strat houses generally play to the CEO's agenda, helping to set overall corporate strategy or strategy within a division / product line / etcThere is a wealth of information already on this board about the differences between strategy consulting and operational consulting. Do a search.
