Currently I get home most nights which is great as I see the kids, but living in expensive south east in average house.Thinking of moving up North or somewhere nice, having a big house in the country and good life-style, but then being away 3 nights a week. Kids are older now. Some weeks I would be able to work from home, depending on project. Who has done this and what were your experiences?

Have considered this too. London-ish salary back in Scotland would provide a nice little life if I can put up with the travel. I tend to be out of town mon-thur every week anyway so the only difference is i'd be going back to scotland instead of my overpriced rented flat in london
