What is happening with the shake up of Mercer, is it a good thing or bad thing? Redundancies or hiring or both?

I just don't know what this firm is up to these days.A lot of folk used to put them in the same 'preferred employer' list as MBBB. Now I'm not sure where they are or what they do. Do they still do strategy or is it a HR advisory company? And what's all this with all the different partnerships and takeovers? It's all a bit jumbled up to me.

MOW still on the list as far as I can tell - more highly capitalised than MBB and only really look for lateral hires at more senior levels, but MHR has acquired a confused image in the market which has impacted heavily on its perceived prestige.That's my take on it anyway.The wider organisation which owns Mercer is big and ugly enough to swallow some restructuring.

The point was that MOW, Mercer and one more (is it Mercer Delta?) are all now to be called Oliver Wymain. They seem to be consolidating.

Will this also include Mercer Lippincott? Makes sense - could never see the point in the diffused branding anyway.

MMC, MOW and Mercer Delta merger and a now called "Oliver Wyman". This is definite I saw a one page add in Financial Times Europe and press news about it.
