Hi folks, could you perhaps give me some advice plz?I´m going to have my annual goal review interview with my partner. I did my job well so far, so what is an appropiate salary increase for next accounting year I can "ask" for?How would you argue for it?I´m management consultant in the German market for a niche small player for financial management/controlling and salary is about 40k EUR today. Many thanks for your advice!Questioner

Two inches up, search threads, type salary, press button. Yippee! There are two many variables for anyone to give you a decent answer here. You must have an idea of what your colleagues earn and what you would like to earn. You also have the best idea of how you are performing.Make a list of why you should get a pay rise and then be confident but realistic in what you are aiming for - consider it a ptch and put in the same amount of work. It's well worth the effort!

Hi bounty hunter, thanks for answering.I just scrolled through the posts and couldn´t get a fitting answer yet.I just wanted to ask, if someone knows what range of pay rise can be realistic. Is it 20% of the fixum or 2% if you are a "normal" performer?Perhaps someone can tell me, which personal experiences he made in the past in his "rookie" days...I will start my pro´s n cons list soon. I already had this in my mind...

Second year salary increases, consulting, mainland Europe:Top quartile performer, maybe 10-15%Median performer, maybe 3-5%Bottom quartile performer 0%This will depend on whether you also get a bonus to recognise your performance level. If you get a bonus, then you might get less salary increase. Generally, in your second year you will be promoted more quickly than in later years so the money comes from increases in base salary.
