I'm currently a junior in a top 10 University in US with a GPA of 3.2. Is it possible for me to get a full-time job in consulting? I'm thinking about taking GRE and GMAT before applying to jobs next fall but I'm wondering how much will GRE and GMAT make up for my low GPA.Anyone know if this will work? Thanks!

You can easily get a job in consulting with that GPA, just not at MBB or another top firm. I suppose taking the GRE or GMAT could help, but if you test well use your SAT scores assuming you took the tests to go to US college. After that it's all about doing well in the interview.

Hi! Thanks a lot for your reply! I'm just wondering if they will look at my GRE and GMAT score when they are giving out first round interviews. I think my GPA is below the cutoff line and won't even get me a first round interview. I have sent out a lot of applications for summer internship but got 0 first round interview so I kind of panicked. And my SAT score is not that high tho, that's why I'm thinking about taking GRE and GMAT.

What makes you think you'll get a good GMAT score? Perhaps tests aren't your thing. I'm not trying to be unkind, remember that academic performance is only loosely correlated with career performance. But seeking a career in a field that initially places so much emphasis on academic results may not be for you right now.
