Hi Guys,Just looking to see what feedback people have for Hitachi Consulting and Atos Consulting?I have had offers for the Operational Consulting division of each (both with an IT flavour as they are SI's).My plan is to do 3-4 years and then move on to a top tier firm (accenture/capgemini), my academics are not good enough for either of these at present.I'm looking to find out what peoples experience of each has been, and which is viewed as a better addition to my CV?Thanks!

I have heard of people at Atos being very happy and moving through the ranks quite fast before moving into a top tier firm at a reasonably high level (2-3years). Can't comment on hitachi...

Having left Atos in November, I'd offer an alternative view.If you're smart, capable, and have the ability to deliver, both you and management realise you would do better elsewhere, so you look elsewhere, and leverage that offer into an internal promotion to move up the 9 (count 'em) consulting ranks within Atos. Not always the best move for bridges, but it has worked for quite a few people who have moved up quickly within Atos and then subsequently left within 3 months of their promotion. The bi-annual bonus makes it less financially painful to leave at any point in the year.

Hitachi are making people redundant possibly because of their acquisition of Celerant Consulting a while back. There are some good people and some good projects - but these are few and far between. Atos has some good people, and certainly has more of a work/life balance than HCUK. However, its consulting arm doesn't really talk to the SI arm that much. And their processes have little to be desired. But if your grades aren't good for Accenture now having HCUK or Atos on your CV still isn't going to make a big impression at an Accenture interview.

I'm a bit surprised since usually neither Accenture nor Cap Gemini are so strictly in rating people on their academics, assuming it's not looking too bad of course. No idea about the Operational Consulting division of Atos as I only know them from IT & outsourcing.Operational Consulting within Hitachi Consulting should or at least could have very little to do with IT, the majority of that practice within Europe is simply what they acquired from Celerant Consulting. Best to check what you're really signing up for...Also, are you talking about UK since the everyday reality can still differ quite a bit depending on which office is hiring you?

Hitachi hasn't really grown since the beginning, so that's got to be telling you something. Also, the calibre of people there varies hugely...and, as an earlier post alluded to, the good people are few and far between. Their London offices are nice, though.
