I know that ATS is not liked much around here, but I hope you can help with a query.I'm a tech guy at heart and plan to move onto Tech Consultancy rather than Strategy. Would you guys consider ATS to be a good stepping stone to becoming, say, a SAP or Oracle consultant?(The reason why ATS has come up is that I recently graduated with a 2:2 so my options are restricted if I was to apply to Accenture)

Yes, in ATS you can still be working with SAP and Oracle so this is a viable route to becoming a technology consultant

From what I understand if you join ATS you will probably not be able to plan a move into the consulting side of the business even though that's where a lot of the ERP type consultants reside. But if you stick around for a year or two it can be used as a stepping stone to experienced hire roles at Capgemini, IBM etc. Might be worth checking out Logica, smaller outfit but believe they accept 2:2s and you will not be starting in a part of the business which is considered by some to be the "underdogs"... Accenture not accepting 2:2's but they accept any old rubbish from India. Next time your in a tech conversation guess who the idiot is who really does not get the converstion flow or the risk vs cost issue. Yep its Accenture India.This was a good move for Accn a few years ago, but is now a bit tired with margins tightening and law suits expanding.

I thought they just fire Uk staff and have a 1st class degree as the absolute minimum now as the consulting margins are narrow?Might be wrong, but there are more than enough consultants out there with x years industry vs new blood and a narrow market.
