HiA little background and then my question.Over a 15 year period I have had a number of varying roles :-* R&D Engineer in sensor technology (bear with me...)* Lead ASIC (silicon chip) designer* ERP Implementation Consultant (Financial and Project accouting bias)* Six Sigma change agent in automotive manufacturing* Managing move of IS application development to offshore team* Project manager of payroll consolidation/outsourcing project.I have always enjoyed developing an understanding of the subject areas which I do rapidly. I consider this along with my analytical abilities to be my main talents.I am also able to communicate at all levels within the business well and bring projects to completion successfullyI am currently looking to move into consultancy in the payroll / HR area. Most likely in implementation rather than strategy due to limited history in this area. Here is my question. Should I emphasise my varied career linking it together by highlighting the way I have demonstrated my talents. Or should I focus on the recent project work in my area of interest. Thanks

Bring your most relevant experience to the fore in your applications i.e. your project work, in order to demonstrate the depth of your understanding of the role. Your varied background is something that will be clear on your CV anyway, and is something that you can more appropriately talk through in an interview.
