Hello all I would need some advice please. I have two offers, one from Mckinsey and one from Macquarie. Both of these are for ba positions, not yet associate ( dont have mba). I am stuck in a bit of a dilemma. The salary is marginally higher in Mac - solely based on a potential bonus. The work I would be doing is very very similar; analysts in both top strategy firms and private equity funds do research, analysis and presentation. ( please do not confuse PE with IB)Any thoughts on on prestige, colleagues, reputation etc? Im only 24, not british and would appreciate the most help i can get. Thanks!

I'm not really sure what macquarie is and I'm an "old hand". So, do not take my words as gospel. Statistically speaking if you're going to get "counselled out" from either of these firms after 2 years why not go for McK and get a brand on your CV that everyone knows about.I noticed that the list of values to which Macquarie aspires (see their website www.macquarie.com/eu/about_macquarie/whatwestandfor.htm) doesn't follow a consistent grammatical tense, which would put me off if it's indicative of poor teamwork or fluffy thinking within the company.

Macquarie is one of the most aggressive private equity funds in the world - with over 30bn under management. It is not a 'company' - and the values on the website are just for CSR. There are no values in PE; what do you think this is, an audit fim?

Either way the list isn't grammatically consistent. Also if the firm doesn't have any "values" then why does it list some on its website? And yes it is a company, the "fund" is what the company manages.
