Heard rumours from good sources of redundancies at KPMG's advisory business. A number of Partners going (including heavy hitters and ex-Atos), demotions from Partner to Director, and future promo track frozen. Also heard that a good number of consultants have gone too. Can anyone shed light on this.As a potential hire at Director level with a Partner track promise I'd like to know more.

Which area do you work in?Government Advisory has been hit pretty hard recently but it's all moving forward now.

Yes, I believe it is true - another closer source confirmed this including some key names (clearly not for sharing here)

Cannot comment on KPMG , but ATOS did have a second round of redundancies as part of their restructure in Q3/Q4 last year. It may be that the confusion is around the fact the ATOS Consulting was formed from the legacy KPMG Consulting business.

No, this is definitely KPMG not Atos. The KPMG redundancies at Partner level happened in the last few weeks. The Atos connection is that some of the Partners who left Atos to rejoin KPMG have been sacked now by KPMG - great career move.

Yes its very true, around 15 consultant got the boot recently at all levels and there is indeed a freeze on recruitment all driven by a downturn in business and government advisory failing to hit the overly ambitions it set itself. Many of the best consultants have left or are considering their position and it is certainly a place to be avoided.

Interesting to see how the 'big 4' are getting on.We're seeing KPMG and EY struggling, after an overly ambitious move back into Consulting. Deloitte seem to continue ticking along without too many dramas. Any idea how PWC are getting on? They still seem to be recruiting pretty heavily.

I think this needs context.KPMG have stripped out 15 people who either didn't perform or didn't fit from a Govt Advisory team of 300. That's not huge.Business is slow but is still growing and is still hugely profitable - the only thing they're struggling with is hitting ambitions/absurd groth targets of 25% YOY. Some teams within the department are flying, some are not.The whole dept is being restructured at the mo, hence the words of doom which always surface in these situations. The restructure makes sense but is being handled badly, leaving plenty of opportunity for uncertainty and an accompanying drop in morale. For a consultancy business you'd think they could handle a little change...

Financial Services has been hit too.At least 2 (maybe more) Partners have been sacked. Some other Partners have been demoted to Director.Don't know if any other consultants have gone but it sounds messy as I'm seeing a lot of their CVs in the market
