no ACN

I wouldn't think acn strategy fits my model for exciting place. Everything is IT-related, maybe they work with the majors, but their scope is limited to re-engineering of HR processes or procurement tools - nothing to do with the core business

ACN!

That's half of the story. Acn does deal with HR and procurement issues but that is taken care of by other workforces - not BS&A. What BS&A does is strategy&operations, i.e. no pure theorizing. Your peers are top-MBA's with some previous industry exposure. This is an elite group that everybody wants to get into.

Both NOCs and IOCs do make use of big consultancies like acn. I'm not in acn, but have been involved as client in a couple a projects with them and they left a great impression and solid results. Very professional and wealthy bunch - best hotels, expensive restaurants, etc.

I'm in ACN Resources working on a small project for an oilco next to a big SAP programme. I dont recognise the postings here really.......its def not best hotels or food !Hard work, some interesting. But to make Partner I'm going to have to start selling some big SI $$s. So I will do this a bit longer then look to move on to somewhere in consulting that can take advantage of my MBA

Hey Pinko - I just read your message here and I'm not sure what to make of it vs. what I read above. Is it really that bad - are you not using your MBA? What is the pay like? I ask because I'm going through the interview process and I thought the place was more high-level than what you portrayed.

ACN BSI

I'm in acn BSI and I know the strategy BS&A folks are the best paid. Don't know the details, but I guesstimate 80-90 kBP for a C3 (excluding bonuses). And I'm a bit surprised to hear from pinko he doesn't get a chance to use his MBA. I would have thought quite the opposite.

Afraid you guesstimate wrong. BS&A is generally better paid than BSI, but only by a few k. £80-90k is nearly twice as much as any C3 can expect. I wish it was better paid - we might hang onto and attract some better people.

Anon, you must have your facts incomplete. I'm going for the final third round interview and at the beginning of the process I have clearly communicated the minimum offer I would consider - 75 k for a consultant position. And they still called me up for an interview. How do you explain that?

you will never get 75. i will bet 75k of my own money, with you now, that you will NEVER get 75k as a c3.

"Consultant" is a pretty broad term. You might get £75k as an experienced consultant - what Accenture might call a Manager (?) (I'm not too familiar with ACN titles). However, this would not be a C3 position in the ACN career grading. And, for the avoidance of doubt, we are all talking about pounds sterling (£) rather than US dollars ($) aren't we.

Yes, it's british pounds we are talking about. 75-85 k.Any ACN-er able to confirm these figures for an MBA experienced hire at consultant level?

As i understand it, consultant pay 'range' is 38-63k in the UK. 70K+ is a 'manager' level salary, but since that is technically a 'consultant' i.e. in the consulting workforce, then maybe there isnt anything that awry with this string.
