HiHope a few of you can help with some advice and/or recommendations. I need UK based professional insight…Just a bit of background:I'm an experienced business consultant (management/senior level) with an MBA form a top South African university. I've worked as both a customer facing and as an internal consultant for clients in: automotive; aviation; retail; petrol/chemical; new media and IT services industries. I specialise in business architecture and process optimisation, focused on cross functional integration and market interaction/CRM.I have just received my UK HSMP visa, but will only relocate beginning June 2007. I understand that I will most probably be required to be in the UK (London) for interviews. (But it would always be great to secure a position even before I land there ;-)Now the advice that I seek: - When would be the best point in time (now, later?) to approach the consultancies that I've identified, or to apply for specific roles advertised?- What would you suggest is the best approach to now already establish communications with prospective consultancies with the aim of securing interviews for when I arrive in the UK?- Any suggestions regarding specific consultancies that would value my skills and focus. (I have already identified a few consultancies, and specific roles advertised, that would be a good fit, but local views usually provide better insight – also I’m not aiming for a Big 4/5, actually prefer more specialised consultancies, but then Big 4/5 seems to usually have requirements across the board)Thanks in advance for your help.JPS – My CV is available on request

You will most certainly need to be here for interviews! I doubt that anybody will schedule interviews before being able to confirm your exact availability. That said, it might be worth it to contact one or two firms that you are very interested in, or just register your CV online (a lot of firms have career sections on their sites). Also get your CV through to specialist recruiters; they should be well equipped to assist you.
