Hi Guys,Due to personal circumstances I may have to relocate to Scotland in the near future and was wondering if you guys knew of any consultancies based our there? My background is in People, transofrmation and change management and I have nearly 6 years experience. I'm quite keen to learn about reputable firms but not necessarily the 'big names'. Ive worked for a large orgnaisation and am quite keen to try a smaller player now-but smaller player with interesting prospects.Anyone know of any firms that I could look into?Matthew

Ochay And Danooh have quite a reputation up there, as do the more well known Iron and Brew.Sorry, slow day.Edinburgh and Glasgow are both small but bustling business communities (compared to London before any Jocks kick off!) and there will be some sharp small firms up there who will welcome some large firm experience.I work in both cities quite regularly and enjoy them both, though Edinburgh has the edge for me.I wish I could help more, I guess the usual methods of phone, t'intereweb and shoe leather may be in order.

Try Troika for FS who've just opened an office in Edinburgh along with Deloitte who have consulting staff in both the Glasgow and Edinburgh offices. I also think that EY are recruiting north of the border too.

Capgemini has both a Glasgow and Edinburgh office and do loads of public sector work. Doesn't really count as a small player but I believe the Scotland offices have a smaller company cultural feel.

Do beware of the risk in a certain larger consultancy (and perhaps in others) of being used for assignments all over the UK (and not so often in Scotland) and thus not deriving much benefit from being "based" in Scotland. On the bright side your charge out rate and salary will be lower!

PA have a practice of about 35 consultants in Glasgow. London wages but work not guaranteed to be in Scotland.
