Just wondering if there are any capco insiders here who could comment on whether capco are generally a stable bet these days. I have been approached and thinking of applying but heard all sorts of rumours regarding instability and loss of staff ( layoffs ? ).They seem to be hiring at the moment so just wondering what people make of them in general.

I chuckled when I saw this. I work for Capco, and there is absolutely no sign of lay-offs on the horizon. Quite the opposite in fact - some potential aquisitions and a huge recruitment drive. We're v. busy...I believe a few of our internal finance/payroll roles are being sent to India, but this doesn't impact the consultants at all.The only thing to raise is the amount of international work being done. If you're trying to minimise your travel commitments, then Capco might not be the place for you.

Thanks Capco. It seems that the rumours related to last year when there were apparently a large number of departures ? From your post it seems things are different now.I am working for another consultancy and just interested if you have any observations ( as an insider) on culture, progression and rewards at Capco. Thanks

Curioser - I am running the current recruitment campaign on Top-C on Capcos behalf. I would be happy to tell you more about the company. Please feel to call me on 0845 862 0150 for a confidential discussion, or e-mail me on mike@druidib.comPS - People are not leaving, quite the opposite.

There were a few people who left last year, largely because of the uncertainty over a deal with Symphony Technology Group. STG struck a deal with the partners in the autumn to take a majority share in the business. People were a bit concerned we might end up heading down the systems integration track, but that soesn't appear to be the plan. Our bread and butter is pure FS consulting, and it looks like it will remain that way - although we do now have a broader managed service capacity thanks to STG's resources in India.Things are generally pretty good. It's a pretty friendly place, the people are bright, the partners actually work together... Can't speak for other people but I think I'm remunerated well for what I do, and I believe our bonuses are more generous than a lot of the other consulting firms. No major complaints from me...
