I have to design a big (ie>1 day) business game for my Uni Society. Anyone know of any, have any ideas, or anything else that can help me? You are all bright consultants...!

Hmmm not at all sure business is a game. However your current response rate seems, well, rather on the mean side, so here are my thoughts! You might find that the >1 day clause is putting people off.You could set up some form of share club (track equities like penny shares). Go for low stakes or no stakes (if simply doing it for fun). Track them as a group at set times, but agree on the game plan first. Or set up a league/championship with games lasting <1day. Not sure what - have you ever played call my bluff? Put together a set of questions using consulting and business jargon (Consulting acronyms with thread identifier 20398? that might help to get you started).Or put together a programme of games if you end up with lots of useable game possibilities. Anyone else able to spare this bloke a few minutes?

Set a consulting case study.Provide your teams with a problem/issue/solution and give them a ream of supporting information from which to draw their understanding and conclusion.Leave some information out so that they have to get out/get off their arses and do some investigation.Throw some information in half way through which spins the study (clients normally do anyway!)If you're doing it over more than a day you could even set it up so that it starts with a client briefing and they then have say a total of 30 mins client facing time to be used at a point when they feel best. Some teams are guarenteed to blow this early!Make them deliver their solution in a presentation with accompanying information pack.Judge them on their output - professionalism and client handling, deliverable quality, solution quality. If you know someone in consulting or in a large firm get them to sponser and be involved in the event. They can also provide a case study and be involved in the judging panel - and of course provide a bung of cash and a cut glass trophy.Hope this helps!

Another interesting addition would be to make them get some data through interviewing members of the clinets organisation. They have some time to prepare then at some point they have timelimited interviews with people playing various roles. they have to get certain informaiton from teh person - but they need to do it in a professional manner. It is even more fun if the interviewees have differnet personallities and attitudes towards the project (ie. helpful, chatty about nothing in particular, resitive)
