what to say at IB interview?

What should you say at an IB interview?Should you be honest and say you want the money and you will work like a demon to get it, or should you wax lyrical about your childhood dream to work in IB (you get the drift!).Afterall, it is just about the money isn't it? If you want to work 100 hrs a week and get job satisfaction without money you could be a junior doctor or somesuch.

Say that you are motivated by money, why not, thats one reason for doing the job. But make sure and tell them other reasons. In my case the buzz of working on live deals, the fast pace etc. I'm talking about trading where i want to work but you get the picture.

Rubbish - mention it by all means, just don't make it out to be the only factor, which it shouldn't be anyway. Say it provides financial stability or something less vulgar than 'I want to earn sh*tloads.'

Am interested to know - besides being Elton John or writing an enormously successful series of novels involving a boy wizard - what pays more than IB?

Football? 20 Premiership sides with say 25 players each = 500 players, with a career of about 10 years. So opportunities rather limited. And £60,000 a week is only £3m a year. Russian oil oligopolies and colossal Indian steel congolmerates are also quite few in number.

You guys are pathetic. Why do you think IB is all about money?Let me tell you something - if you joined looking for cash - and that was your sole motivator - you wont last a day. Why can't you just admitt that IB is a more intellectual job? That is more demanding? Why do you act so pathetically! Have some dignity! And dont go bash on the hours or the excel or whatever. ANY successful person will work long hours - whether thats at Allen & Overy, McKinsey, JP Morgan - or any other firm for that matter. Stop being such losers. If youre at PWC doing deck after deck of wish wash its no ones fault but youre own.
