I am a final year student in a portuguese top University.I will finish my degree with an average of 14 (in 20). That's 70%. In Uk that's a 2:1, 2:2 or what it is?Thanks

Number/percentage scores are not directly convertable between educational systems. However, Wikipedia offers the following explanation:Grades of 14 to 15 are "good" (better than "passable")Therefore, I would say 14 out of 20 is a low 2:1.

Most application forms for management consultancy firms specifically state that you should not convert your degree mark from the format used in the country were it was completed, yet you may want to specify in your CV something like "overall mark 14/20 (equivalent to 2:1)" and not worry too much if that is entirely accurate or not. In general the Uk grading goes something like50%+ 2:260%+ 2:170%+ 1:1 But I wouldn't necessarily convert that mathematically to your mark...Hope that helps

They also use the 20 point scale in France where 14 can be pretty good but I don't think it is directly comparable. If at your institution it is "good" and most people get somewhat less, then perhaps you could conider it equivalent to a 2.i. Be aware though that at most institutions and on many courses few Firsts are awarded so unless you fall into the top 5%-10%(pushing it) then be cautious about claiming equivalence to a First.

As a (young) man of superior intellect, it is best for one to assume your academic score is totally inadequate for consultancy regardless of its comparison to the British system; for even if it is an equivalent first class honours degree, it is not from Oxbridge. Verily, you are not the chosen one.
