Hi,I have a few entry-level interviews coming up and was wondering what is the most quantitative/ mathematical thing that I could be asked? I'm pretty good with numbers and score well on numerical tests, but I'm not a maths/physics grad, and so am slightly concerned that they may ask something that I haven't covered. Thanks

Think about it for a moment. Do you think your interviewer is likely to expect you to start solving differential equations in your head?

From my experience the maths itself isn't hard - at worst its been percentages. The problem I have is even though I am good at maths and mental arithmetic, that part of my brain seems to shut down in the interview! Anyway just practice doing some simple mental arithmetic and keep your cool, good luck.

They'll be testing your logic and flow of thought, not your knowledge of specific theories etc.If you've got common sense, can structure things and approach problems logically, and if you can do basic mental arithmetic OK, you'll be fine. They won't (for sure) be asking you to calculate standard deviations or that kind of stuff.Admittedly physicists/mathematicians are at an advantage because they tend to have more structured thinking than those who study 'fluffy' subjects, but on the other hand they usually lack the assertiveness and social skills.Just remember - use common sense.

Creating the framework in the interview is more important than forcing a formulaic structure to fit.The numerical skills you need in a case study interview are pretty basic - running some long multiplication/division and a few percentages. Communicating the relative scale of statistics is more important than churning out loads of figures.
