Any other opinions. - I mean, what about the people at the firm, who do people think are better to work for. Who train you better - rewards etc

Accenture do have very nice marble toilets, but then Deloitte has a slightly richer blue carpet in the lobby. I dunno guys - this is a close call.

Yes I must admit that the toilets in Acn's Old Bailey office certainly rank up there with the best of them. Actually, this is a good idea for a thread - toilets in the major consulting firm's offices... any insight?

There's no-one off the top of my head i can think of in my start group at acn from oxbridge. A recruiter told me they don't take that many on as a lot don't have much beyond academics. Try and see past the bad press of acn. it's a big company and at any big company there will be disgruntled employees. There's also a lot of folk really happy there and who have been there a long time.

50% of my start group at ACN were Oxbridge. But that was a few years ago when the rewards and progression were still competitive.

Ok, thanks al lot, I seem to have an idea about the firm. People don't really like ACN here do they. What about deloitte - what are the good things about deloitte, and specifically the EA Program. Cheers again

If you get an offer from either it's not a bad place to start your career at all despite what a lot of elitist wanks say on here. Both are big companies so have their good and bad points but i'm sure you woouldn't go far wrong in either. Career progression, salary and the work done isn't a million miles apart.a lot of folk jump from acn to dc and vica versa

I worked for both ACN and Deloitte. Deloitte EA is going through a transition after layng off off some deadwood.ACN is changing too. In my humble opinion if you are into technology in a big way e.g. you are a geek. then go to ACN. Deloitte tends to employ people with real personalities and free thinkers. Deloitte people like technology but they are Management consultants not IT consultants. ACN are the latter.

I've also worked for both Accenture and Deloitte and am an Oxford graduate (so far I've found a pretty similar ratio at both firms).I worked in Accentures GBS group (the techy consulting bit) and agree with the previous comment that they're much more tech focused with a current trend to go for long term outsourcing deals and implementation work rather than business advisory work. I also had some pretty bad experiences of some awful project at Accenture (but that's just my experience). Since moving to Deloitte last May I've worked on much better projects and much prefer the culture and people I'm working with (again, just personal preference). I've also found Deloitte much more supportive in terms of training and project choice (they're currently sponsoring me to study CIMA) and they tend to focus on business advisory and assurance roles, and where we are doing implementation work the Deloitte folks tend to take management roles in partnering with other firms. I definitely agree with the previous comment saying that Deloitte folks are Management Consultants rather than IT Consultants. I'm not planning on moving anywhere else at the moment.

A) In terms of Old Bailey toilets, yeah - they're nice and fit for purpose but the best toilets have cubicles where you cannot hear whats going on in the next one- I hate having a number 2 and listening to the one next to me doing the same thing.B) can't be bothered with a comparison of ACN & Del right now, I'll get back to you later.

Hi Spongebob,I am applying to Deloitte for their advanced hire consulting section. Since you've mentioned you are currently working for them, I wanted to know how you are finding the company, working hrs etc. Any tips on selection process? Many Thanks

Ringo,You might be reassured to hear that Accenture's Fenchurch Street toilets have cubicles constructed from big slabs of wood, thick enough to muffle all but the very loudest 'emissions'. They perhaps lose out to Old Bailey in terms of absolute style, but they are certainly functional.Queen Victoria Street is also worth a look - very innovative washbasins.
