Hi, I'm looking for an opportunity to work in Consulting in India (pref. Mumbai Base). My background is that I have 9 years of Management consulting experience (within the UK) and am currently employed by the big 4 developing shared services blue prints. Apart from applying to the Big 4, I would appreciate if anyone knows of organisations that are actively recruiting experienced professionals from the UK? From a VISA perspective I shall be applying for the Person of Indian Origin status, that allows me to work freely in India.Cheers,Rajesh

If you're applying to a quant role, then it'd be an issue. Consultancies look for more of a balance of quantitative and soft skills though - social sciences (economics, management sciences, etc.) have a pretty close match to the consulting skillset. If you're applying to a general grad role then it wouldn't be a problem most places - after all, English BA's are welcome and there's more statistical analysis in social sciences.Age shouldn't be an issue, and there are plenty of places that will appreciate having someone with a bit of "grey hair" to give at least superficial credibility in front of clients. Best to stress your willingness to start at the bottom, learn quickly, and prove your ability on the job, to quell any concerns about your age.

Okay, don't know why my earlier post turned up here.Anyway, was just going to suggest that I've seen a few adverts recently for outsourcing consultants with Xansa that were looking for geographical mobility. They have a big centre in India. The jobs were advertised as based in the UK, but if you're going to be working 50/50 in the UK and India then you might as well see if you can based over there.
