You could have discussed start dates as an administrative matter at the end of your first interview - after all, it's an important practical consideration if they want somebody to start in one month but you don't finish your course until July, or if they're looking at a 2007 start date and you want to take a gap year until 2008.Definitely, bring up the start date issue in conversation towards the end of the interview - in fact, the interviewer will almost certainly offer you the opportunity to ask any questions like this. For graduate positions, only discuss salary and bonus once you've had a firm offer with the numbers on paper and if you have a competing offer with a better deal. Don't expect any flexibility though.
