I'm currently working in Australia at Deloitte in their International Tax & Transactions Group and have just completed my first year. I now have an offer to start work at a national law firm at a graduate level. My goal is to apply for top tier management/strategy consulting firms at an experienced hire level in 1-2 years, so could I ask which work experience would be more valuable to their recruitment process?I have prospects to be promoted to Senior Analyst at the end of this year and I am currently studying a Masters in Law at Deloitte. However, I'm afraid of becoming too specialised in the tax field to move into consultancy. Also, I've heard that experienced lawyers have good cred in applying for almost any industry. I need to make a decision whether to stay at Deloitte or move to the law firm by end of January, so any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks in advance.
