Hi, I checked the previous posts on PwC Strategy but still would like to ask the following:- which tier they belong to? (I understand that they are not the same as MBBB, but do they belong to tier 2 like ATK, Monitor, etc.)?- what chances would I have to move from PwC Strategy to MBBB (after spending in PwC 2 years at entry-level position)?- would PwC Strategy get me into top b-schools (when it comes to work experience)?- would the transition to PE or IB (M&A) be possible?

Best described as "boutique" rather than "tier X".Not much chance of moving to MBBB as the PwC focus is too narrow to transfer.Yes, PwC Strategy would be eligible for top business schools, in as far as no job is a golden key to b-school (other factors count more)Experience from PwC Strategy, although closely linked to Valuation, isn't quantitatively intense so you'd be better staying longer at PwC, gaining an MBA then transferring into PE/IB in a more senior role where relationship management counts for more than number-crunching ability.

the above answer is perfect, except:"would the transition to PE or IB (M&A) be possible?"Experience from PwC Strategy, although closely linked to Valuation, isn't quantitatively intense so you'd be better staying longer at PwC, gaining an MBA then ....TRYING to transfer into PE/IB in a more JUNIOR role role ...IBs and PE firms hire MBAs at associate level - thats app 3 years after graduation if you enter direct from your undergrad. If your final goal is to enter PE, and you arent at PWC yet - then try to get into banking now. if youre already there, then try to get a top 5 ( not 10) MBA.Remember, whilst the PWC strategy group will be well known in London MC circles - PE houses will be oblivious to its existence and most will still see anyone from PWC as an auditor.

Anon, Mike - thank you for answers. Very good feedback. Also - question to any PwC folks - if they take 10 grads in 2007 what number (approx) can expect to be sponsored MBA in 2 yrs time? Sponsored MBA is one of the key decision drivers for me hence my question.

zero. thats just a marketing ploy. im surprised you havent asked the % of sponsored candidates at your interview process. The only ones to sponsor MBAs are IBs, MBBB and some banks. Dont get your hopes high at PWC paying for your MBA. Accenture, EY, KPMG etc all use the same vague, cheap and misleading marketing ploy.
