I heard a whisper that PA had closed their transport consulting operation. Does anyone know anything?

No. They closed the operation because they couldn't get any decent work and because of new directions. Concentrating on systems and security now.

er, there is a transport team. Not sure where you got concentrating on systems and security from. Certainly not from the strategy update just before xmas.

... yes you are right, PA had a transportation group (it was only airline/airports). It came with the HB acquisition, was mainly US based with just 2 dedicated consultants (poor souls) in London. The group was virtually shut down in Dec 03, lots of people jumped ship and what was left was folded into ITS.The current transport team is "virtual" and focuses mainly in rail with a bit of IT work in aviation (however, that is IT not aviation work).... a little bird told me that PA is seeking to rebuild the transport group... and that hey are actively recruiting in all areas...

I heard similar when having a coffee amongst transport chaos at Victoria. The meeting must have kind of spilled out into the station. They were quite explicit about the prospective client they were about to pitch to. It was certainly in the transport sector. Not sure what the eventual result was. I would have asked more about it for you if I'd known you were interested, but at the time considered that it might have been a little bit too pushy. I'm being serious! They have been trying to rebuild this team.

Are PA serious about developing their transport consultancy offering? Are they really recruiting in this sector?
