I dun tihnk its an oxbridge issue. I attend an oxbridge equivalent school in hte US for my grad studies (non-mba, but still strong with the consulting firms in general). BCG interviewed noone from our class. BCG tends to be very focused on academic background and course selection. After all, they are notorious for their academic perspective. if you have an impressive resume, send that to McKinsey. They are happy iwth taking pple from all walks of life who demonstrate strong achievement. As for BCG and, to some extent, Bain, you are in an uphill battle if you aren't from a top school and/or have pedigree employers/internships in your professional exposure.By the way, i am not sure how old you are. But when i was in undergrad, I thought my resume was impressive (strong academic program non-US, national athlete & entrepreneur) then I met some "really" impressive people. That term is so relative, especially when you are applying to a top firm like BCG.Regardless, good luck.
