Any thoughts on which is best place to start as a grad?Accenture gets a lot of bad press on here but pays more. I'm more interested in Strat work but are deloitte strong in this area?Didnt get an offer from Accenture in strat unfortunately.

Deloitte wins hands down on ALL fronts. You must remember that Accenture is an ITSI player - not a strategy house. Granted, neither is Deloitte - but their track record is far superior in Strategy 'type' work.In Accenture BSI you will deal exclusively with technology, or technology coupled with intergration and / or outsourcing. Do you have an offer from Deloitte? They have just separated thier strategy from thier operations unit ( before was S&O). If you do - thats a top job. Unless you can get into a top strat house, thats the second best thing in my opinion. Good luck. Just realise what you will be doing in 3 years time. I suggest asking to speak with consultant level people on both sides - it will be a welcomed gesture of maturity.

Hi, thanks for the response. I've accepted an offer from Accenture in BSI but ideally would have liked to have been in Strategy. If I don't get in to Deloitte I think I'd try and move to a strat house after a couple of years at Acc or if thats not an option, MBA.

Acn Strats

(1) It is more nuanced than that ... Accenture are increasingly trying to specialise their "growth platforms" (Bus Consulting; SI; Tech) ... so SI will probably mean SI(2) An internal move into strats at ACN is possible, but difficult(3) Totally agree with asking for time with people 3 years in or so. i -Range of work since joining, ii - Nature of projects, iii - Most senior client are good questions.(4) Strats means different things in different operating groups - challenge on thisGood luck
